Was that the most beautiful goal that should never have been?

Well just right now Cavani's goal is a contender. Don't think Fernandes touches it. Marvelous finish though

    West Brom offside

I'm not sure I'm giving it if I'm not placed 100% in the best position. I do think it's the correct decision.

    what your decision on this?

If I'm the best position here, possibly defensive free kick. Anywhere else, I reckon this would look like a simple collision and I'd stop play to make sure there are no injuries, especially since it's the GK

A funny incident, what would you do ?

Had the same two seasons ago, when I just started using the shorts for my cards. Easy SPA, thought to show a quick card and hot down the number and all hell broke loose. Really easy to see why though, had put the red in my right pocket. Quickly corrected it and had a good laugh with the left...

    Manchester City v PSG

As if that wasn't one of the easiest dissent cautions of his career. Kuipers still one of the best in the business imo, always love to watch him in the Eredivisie. Not surprised he's given yellows for both orange tackles, he's one of the referees who gets called to the screen for SFP the most in...

    Manchester City v PSG

Really feel the assistant gave the PK here, didn't look a handball in real time. PSG lucky to finish with 10. Both Danilo and Kimpembe could (should?) have been off. Kimpembe really with excessive force, but okay. The two of them are incredibly orange cards. Thought VAR was excellent and the...

    Val vs Bar

We're both making the same point here, albeit that I worded it a bit poorly. I meant to say that VAR would not intervene here for either red or yellow, as it's not C&O. If the ref deemed this SPA, then so be it. However, had he deemed it DOGSO, and had he given red, the defender would be off...

    Val vs Bar

Ter Stegen gets nowhere near this and contact is minimal, not like the Valencia player makes an obvious blocking motion. I was surprised not to see a red card for the penalty call (here https://streamable.com/zhtty4) Control probably in doubt but I find it hard to see a more obvious OGSO than a...

    MLS Inside Video Review

For me Fotis' decision to stick to the red is worse than not upgrading yellow to red in the later clip Also, I think you'd have to disallow the final goal for handball, right? Goal is scored literally the second after the handball, which meets all requirements to be disallowed (if not for...

    Chelsea v Porto Offside

I've had soooo many problems with this. Worst was when it happened twice in one game, with the CB playing the ball ending up with a three card trick after going in the book for dissent after both goals. After the game, when I showed him Lovren, he seemed to accept it. Just 'last week's ref'...

    West Ham vs Chelsea

Wonderful this. You can't really say this is Violent Conduct as we know it but as said, it can't really be SFP. I don't even like it being reviewed at all and am firmly in the camp that this isn't a red.

    Breakaway European League.

Don't like the idea, but don't think it's as horrific as you'd imagine. The leagues are also trying to protect themselves, so there's no way they'll prevent their six highest earners from participating. Realistically, there'd be far less outrage if a different group of teams tried to organise a...

Most cards you’ve shown in a single match?

I think 6y 1r,but three of those yellows came from dissent for that one red so that was entertaining

    Man City vs Leeds

What are we making of Fernandinho's challenge? Orange for me, but I think I'd like to see SFP red for that. Too hard of a tackle to easily go for yellow here

    Alajuelense vs Atlanta

One of the instances where a flash yellow does absolutely nothing but make a fool out of the ref. Flash red might also have ended up in a ruckus but at least it'd have been the right decision

Do we accept a confession of guilt?

Yeah, I'd probably do so if the GK is not close to being taken. If it is, I'd thank him for his honesty but stick with the call I'd made and keep the game going

    Back pass.

Has anyone emailed Elleray about this?

    Back pass.

Wait so in Futsal, the keeper plays the ball to a defender, he gets pressured, tries to clear it but that deflects of another defender to the goal and the keeper will then get penalized for trying to save it?

It was nice while it lasted...

Well that was fun. Did two games yesterday and perhaps there were two fouls in total. Both teams happy to be on the pitch after a few months (me included). Really don't know what you've got till it's gone

It was nice while it lasted...

Well, we're getting back on the pitch in the Netherlands. Nothing official but intra-club competitions. Having been out with an injured knee since October and blatantly overeating on the on-sale easter eggs, Saturday's going to be a challenge. How are things in the rest of the world?
