I feel like it would be very useful as it could lead to an increase in the quality of officiating as refs could get up there. Talked to a ref you got promoted last season and my county had it last season but might have scraped it.
Dont worry I had this as well first mens game I did as a friendly my first season. Remember there will always be bad games but if you sludge through you get to experience the good games which are absoutely fanastic and will turn this into something you utterly enjoy doing.
I was looking at the new requirements for promotion to level 6. And they took out the fitness test:
Compared to last year the requirements seem alot easier than beforehand. Ironically I was kinda looking forward ot fitness test as an excuse to finally improve my fitness.

I have seen in the iFAB book that it advises you to get a special coin for it. And then on various refereeing sites like 'The referee store' you can buy a coin for like £7. What do you people use? Personally I just use whatever coin I have in my bad whether that be 2p, 10p, 50p, £1 or £2...
I myself have never used the A&H flags however in regards to the rubbish flags you are talking about I use a pair of Precision training flags which I got from my referee course and they have lasted me. As long as you treat them well and take care they last, I say as they are about to go into...
When I was an AR for a step 4/5 game I got a really good briefing from the main ref and that was about my oval of credibilty. I've heard other refs say about the thirds thing however its just not as pratical. Below is a rough draw of what I am trying to say.
