Junior/Youth Not sure about this situation.

I can see it at younger age groups for certain cards, but at U13 they know what they’re doing so Id be less lenient. You can still utilise words more than cards with kids but you still need to show cards. But for VC, no matter the age group, has to be a red

    Luton vs Huddersfield

I get it’s a tough call but it’s clear enough to me for him to give it. Toffolo going down easy is his only get out of jail card there

We giving anything there. Naby Sarr bundled to the ground by Sonny Bradley. He does have hold of him but Sarr goes down easily.

Well it’s been evened out. As clear a penalty as you’re gonna see denied to Luton. Not a great start for the ref

    Luton vs Huddersfield

8 seconds in, that’s a penalty to Huddersfield for me. Clear nudge in the back, Toffolo has made a bit of a meal of it I’ll admit but it’s a pen for me. One has to wonder whether the time influenced the refs decision to not give it

    Spurs vs Arsenal

Penalty to Spurs. No complaints from me, Cedric has barged into the back of him. Can’t see VAR overturning that. Any thoughts?

    Leeds vs Chelsea

Actually Rusty, it suits the stats I posted the other day. 1 in 2 get given a straight red card with no VAR. Ayling didn’t, James did. I can still stick to my narrative 😉

    Leeds vs Chelsea

Straight red card shown! No doubt, horrific foul in my opinion. Great call by referee. Surely no one can have any complaints over Dan James getting his marching orders there

    League - 9v9 - Fouls - Sinbin - Youth Match

You were informed incorrectly. A club ref has all the responsibility of an official ref. This includes a sin bin. A sin bin is a type of disciplinary action, of course you have the ability to utilise this. If a player commits dissent towards the referee then he is sin binned. As for parents, do...

    Arsenal vs Leeds

I think the stats have shown this is definitely a factor, it’s very hard to argue against it. I feel it’s a conscious decision or even a directive but at the very least, refs are not giving red cards they would normally. Unconscious decision I will allow to be argued but I can’t see any other...

Cautions in youth football part 2

When it comes to OFFINABUS, there is opinion of course and I respect that. But a 16 year old screaming **** off at you. I’m struggling to see anyway that isn’t a red. Again, I come from an area where “industrial language” is normal language. Every 16 year old knows if they shout **** off to a...

Yeh I’ve Googled it seems like an alright concept. Not a thing that exists in my county though.

    Arsenal vs Leeds

Last season only 2 red cards were overturned, so of the 18 (16 correct, 2 incorrect) red cards shown by the ref, 88.89% were deemed to not be clear and obvious errors. This is a good percentage I’m not arguing about whether Var is good or not, I’m stating that in my opinion, referees have...

Respect stewards at U12s? In 11 years of playing, spectating, coaching and refereeing junior football, I have never seen or heard of this

    Arsenal vs Leeds

Last season, there were 33 straight red cards awarded in the Prem. VAR awarded 17 of those. Over 50% of red cards were originally given yellow or nothing by referees. All of these were deemed clear and obvious errors. If a Premier League referee has a less than 50% success rate without...

100%. I refuse to believe SG1 officials are this poor at making on field decisions. Not just this one, this can be put down to isolated incident, but all season this has been the case. Either it’s VAR re-refereeing or PL officials are at an appalling standard

    Arsenal vs Leeds

The referee gets sent to the screen, and to very little surprise it’s overturned to a red. Raphinha is pushing the line here. Been booked for dissent and is still trying to get into the refs face. His own teammates are trying to hold him back. I’m expecting him to lose his head soon
