    Man in the middle documentary

No, but you can't seriously think that the Premier League does VAR better than UEFA??

    Mass Confrontation Approach

Really good questions. My first mass con was in a national championship gold medal match where I was AR. Talk about high stakes and the pressure of all of the other officials from the tournament, all of the national observers, and all of the spectators and other teams watching. I've had a few...

    Mouthy Parents

Been there--more than once. Some players actually respond really well to it but every once in a while you get that one who just wants to make your life harder. I've found that the best thing to do is to not use that kind of language until you have a decent rapport with the player.

Most annoying reaction to correct decisions

Surely you can run around the centre half--you've got pace. :P Anyway, I agree you should have booked him.

Quick question about undershirts / shorts.

Any observer worth their salt is going to take the context of the match into consideration (as RustyRef points out). What they ought to be looking for is a referee who facilitates a fair and clear game that is fun for those involved, especially at your level. Once you get higher up, then the...

    Hypothetically Speaking...

Yes. That would be offside. IDFK from the top of the goal area line nearest to where the offense occurred. It is a red card for DOGSO. Luckily, nobody (and I mean nobody) is fast enough to get back that quickly and it will literally never happen.

I’m too lenient and it backfired today

We all make mistakes. The best referees can get away with their mistakes by managing the situation. The rest of us have to learn from them so we can manage them next time.

I’m too lenient and it backfired today

In 15 years, I have found that players appealing is exceedingly rare (usually the paperwork that needs doing and the deadline it needs doing by is too much for them, the poor dears) and, when I do rarely get called to a hearing I've never been asked what I saw. What I have been asked invariably...

    An odd comment today.

When was the last time a manager knew the LOTG? The only people barred from entering the field of play at half time or full time to remonstrate with the referee are technical area occupants.

Junior/Youth Player refuses to give a name when being cautioned

We don't need name either, but I would just caution him a second time for dissent and send him off. I don't have time for *****s.

    Junior/Youth Should I book manager

IFAB has empowered referees to caution and send off technical area occupants for precisely this reason. In the past, our only option was to ask, tell, remove, but we now have the authority to make a public, visible signal to everyone around that enough is enough. Important things to consider...

I’m too lenient and it backfired today

Well done you for the self-reflection and the effort at making a negative into a positive. You've put a lot in your opening post, but I want to focus on one little thing you wrote that I think deserves more critical reflection. I don't know that I agree. A lot of referees, even at the...

    Difficult match

Sorry for the late reply, but I would only say this: that if it doesn't rise to the level of a caution then it is not, in the opinion of the referee, yet at the level of dissent. It is something different, for the purposes of the LOTG. I would wager that it would be considered an "emotional...

    Difficult match

You don't have that luxury. Dissent, if heard, is to be cautioned. OFFINABUS, if heard, is to be sent off. Alternatively, you can choose not to hear it and not have to do anything.

Why is it so hard to find kits in all sizes?

Yeah, I've tried that but the problem is that, even so, most places don't carry S in every colourway.

Why is it so hard to find kits in all sizes?

While that's a definite option, the Umbro and Nike stuff don't come in Womens and Mens; they are all unisex products. Why associations accept deals with companies who don't produce quality is beyond me. I've been disappointed in Umbro ever since Nike took them over. This was the last passable...

Why is it so hard to find kits in all sizes?

The only thing I need convincing of is that a Medium will ever fit me! I've already been strength training three times a week since COVID started; working with a PRO sports scientist and it is paying dividends in arms and chest; but the shirts are still, well, massive.

Why is it so hard to find kits in all sizes?

Sorry, what I'm saying is that I'd need a spare tire to fill out the medium. The umbro stuff is incredibly boxy.

Why is it so hard to find kits in all sizes?

That's what I meant by mass. I just produce very lean muscle, as a rule. If you check my profile pic, you'll see me in a M shirt. I would have to gain about 80 pounds of muscle just to fill it out and that wouldn't do anything for me around the stomach.

Why is it so hard to find kits in all sizes?

My weight is very healthy and so is my mass :P These kits are just made for people with slightly, err, different body types.
