    IFAB Law Changes for 2025/26

Don't forget in law it's 8 seconds from when the GK has control of the ball, not 8 seconds from when he can be expected to release the ball. Maybe Turpin forgot to start counting straight away, maybe his counting just ended up being a bit slow, but ultimately we're now going to be in a position...

    IFAB Law Changes for 2025/26

Last time I checked I can see my fingers in real life too and not just on camera, so I think it'll still work just fine at grassroots level...

    IFAB Law Changes for 2025/26

If you get to 9 I'd be more concerned with your counting skills, seeing as we're counting down from 8 ;)

    New Puma kit

So, who wants to start... Ok, I will 😂 I think it's awful! Looks like it was designed by a 5 year old - easily the worst kit PGMOL have had.

Situations That Have Never Happened To You

I would have given the goal, and then probably abandoned it 😂

Situations That Have Never Happened To You

Many years ago I had it twice in one game where a goal kick got blown back towards the keeper's own goal - first one didn't leave the area (AR was switched on and bang in line with the edge of the box to flag); second one did leave the area, was going in, and keeper dives to tip it over. None of...

Situations That Have Never Happened To You

In nearly 400 matches as an AR or 4th, I don't think I've ever had a referee go off injured! (That's the kiss of death for someone for the start of next season... 💀) Never had a match abandoned due to discipline (had a few for weather/floodlight failure) - closest I've been was not long after...

    IDFK & handball

I think A&H posed the question on social media not very long ago.

How long do we have to submit disciplinary reports via WGS / when do suspensions start?

All suspensions from red cards start seven days later, even if the referee has failed to submit the report - the club and the player would be held accountable for not being aware of the disciplinary regulations should they play him when he should be serving the suspension. Claims for wrongful...

    Hearts v Dundee Utd

Awful tackle, clear red IMO. At speed, direction is straight at opponent, gets there late, contact is high up the shin on the opponent’s standing leg.

Open Age team walks off - ref allows game to restart

When the match resumed, the team had nine players, so the referee isn't wrong in law. It's all down to whether the referee suspended or abandoned the match. If he suspended it, he is within his rights to resume it at a later time providing the team has more than seven players at that point. If...

    "It's not a fashion show!"

Personalised whistle - meh, no big issue with it (I wouldn't want to use someone else's by mistake!) I've seen adverts for companies offering personalised cards, however... :poop::poop::poop:

Junior/Youth Red cards in Youth football

A team official coming onto the field of play to confront you is a red card anyway (even at full-time), but that particular comment might make me consider using the word "threatening" in my report...

    Deliberate Trick?

The player’s actions are very clearly designed to circumvent the law - as confirmed by the IFAB Circular mentioned above. You can question IFAB's interpretation all you want, but you're not credible arguing against something IFAB has stated explicitly.

    Deliberate Trick?

How is it not circumventing the law? The ball is at his feet, and he has used another body part in order to play the ball back to his goalkeeper to catch in order to prevent any possibility of the attacker nearby gaining possession/shooting.

    Deliberate Trick?

It was Taylor - and absolutely should have been penalised.

    Deliberate Trick?

Heading the ball at knee height? 🟨 If the ball's already coming to him at head or chest height, he's not doing anything to circumvent the law as far as I can see.
