    Leeds v Everton

Fair point. But why did all the other Everton defenders have their arms behind their backs if leaving them in a natural position is perfectly fine ?
  2. B

    Leeds v Everton

Exactly. He knew the shot was coming and could easily have put it behind his back (like John Terry / Gary Cahill used to do)
  3. B

    Leeds v Everton

I didn't see the deflection in real time, mind

    Leeds v Everton

Oops ! Am I the only one that thinks it's a pen then ?

I saw it all the time in the PL last season. I'll keep a close eye on it and keep this thread going
  7. B

    Jewellery

Exactly. It shouldn’t be permitted, but the top level refs seem to turn a blind eye to it

Watching the Chelsea v Bayern Leverkusen friendly on TV, and noticed Tyrique George was wearing taped up earrings. How does that happen at that level ?

Fake hints and tips for new Referees.

It's ok if I lunge in two footed, provided I get the ball first
  12. B

    England v Italy (Womens)

Yet again, the problem stems from professional players diving / cheating. Years ago they would have easily got a pen for that, but these days it's hard to tell whether the holding has impacted their moment, or if the striker has just thrown themselves to the ground with the slightest touch

    Count down, or count up

I guarantee, once the season starts, they'll be crowds in the professional game that will be doing the countdown loudly for the referee to hear when the opposing keeper has control of the ball, once their own team has had a corner awarded against them
  14. B

    Germany v spain (womens)

Eventually ? I think it already has. And that's just one tournament 🤔
  15. B

    Germany v spain (womens)

It shouldn't just be grassroots, but as usual the professional game sets an awful example and makes it difficult for refs at other levels to enforce it
  16. B

    Count down, or count up

can't believe she missed that one just now, though. Surely the whole point of this is to stop keepers from timewasting and dragging out games to pens etc
  17. B

    Count down, or count up

I saw one given by a ref in one of the first games. None since

    Count down, or count up

Berger for Germany just took 15 secs !!!
  19. B

    England v Italy (Womens)

Well yeah, defenders don't help themselves when they're cuddling strikers
  20. B

    England v Italy (Womens)

True. It did seem quite soft, especially given some of the fouls she let go
