It'll be interesting if Cooper has a pic from a fan that shows the whole image. All these thousands being spent on technology and it still doesn't look at it from the referee assistants angle (ie right along the offside line)
I had a very similar one a couple of weeks ago. After the lad shot wide, he asked for the free kick. I just smiled and said "no chance. I gave you a lovely advantage and you messed it up"...he just chuckled and said "I know !"
The clip I saw of it was at a really strange angle and the lines were drawn weirdly, so he may have a point ? Human error on the part of drawing the lines in the correct place
Sounds like you made the correct call. In your opinion the striker had a clear opportunity to shoot and you thought that was better than a FK on the edge of the area, with a wall in front of it and all the defenders back in position. What's people's opinions on saying nothing...letting it pan...
I'd like to know PGMOL's explanation for this. Diaz commits a yellow card offence, then goes head to head, then fakes injury. As you say, they've got to stamp this out.
They were a long time ago now. One was a pure accident (twist), but I dread to think how bad the other would have been if he was wearing one of these micro ones (striker clean through on goal and the keeper rushed out and caught him at full pace). Apologies for the "ok with that" remark. But...
Personally, I don't like seeing players (particularly youngsters) getting hurt whilst playing the beautiful game. I've seen two broken legs since I began at U9's (i'm now in my 50's) and it's a horrible sight. If you're ok with that, then you're a different type of person to me
It's the same with all of these things. The authorities will wait until somebody is seriously injured before action is taken. We all know it's a matter of time !!
