Bending down to head the ball

But the defender stooped down to head the ball, so I didn't think the attacker foot was in a dangerous position and there wasn't any obvious contact

Bending down to head the ball

Yes, probably should gone for the safe option and given it, but couldn't see any contact between the forward and defender.

Bending down to head the ball

Had an incident today. 1-1 in a semi final cup game. Corner to blues, and ball bouncing around in the box. Ball is about 3ft off the floor, and red defender stoops to head, forward nicks it off him and I think he then scores or another player. Reds are screaming for a foul, but I said that is...

Genuine question. If the ref had blown for a Sterling dive or any other infringement say an offside, would Romero’s tackle not come into play and play is reset? Or does ‘serious foul play’ or ‘excessive force” still count?

    Difficulty managing Open Age games

I had an excellent mentor come and observed me as a level 6 ref on Sunday. He told me at half-time to use my voice more, and cut out a lot of the hand signals, like waving them for a non-penalty. I said, I like this sort of thing as Anthony Taylor does it, and I don't use my voice all the time...

    ARS vs CIT

Have watched two of the rugby QFs this weekend and the use of VAR or TOM is absolutely light years ahead of the Premier League. Even a situation in the England game where the referee called on another official to look at the big screen with him to make a call on a yellow card knock-on. Audio...

    ARS vs CIT

But seems to be an issue with VAR and Michael Oliver, as they clearly didn’t want to intervene and tell him he has made a ‘c&o’ error, as he is our top referee.

https://x.com/skysportsnews/status/1711816987175788797?s=46 Bizarre justification and a bit desperate from Webb, just a week after Simon Hooper had absolutely no problem sending off two Liverpool players

    ARS vs CIT

Ridiculous setup where VAR officials seem to be intimidated by Michael Oliver. That’s we need all the ‘mate’ stuff out of the equation. I still go back to Howard Webb’s decision to let Oliver and England go and officiate in the UAE mid season, and just before big Premiership games has...

    ARS vs CIT

Why was Darren England intervening last week with a freeze frame shown to Hooper when he arrived at VAR. I don’t see the difference, sorry. You freeze frame that impact as Michael Oliver walks up to the screen then it’s a red card

    TOT v LIV

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-tottenham-replay-jurgen-klopp-var-b2424045.html According to UEFA rules A replay would be possible over incorrect application of laws, rather than an outright mistake: since the VAR actually identified that Diaz was onside, the correct...

    TOT v LIV

Apparently they have been getting help from rugby with VAR, but that sound like it has been completely ignored, as we don’t want to learn from other sports as we are experts in what we are doing, and we don’t need other people meddling in our process. At least this will draw a line under this...
