Never have I ever done and never will I ever walk along the players checking their boots. Ever.

Do you ALWAYS check your pitch markings?

How many of us would actually notice this when we are out on it?

Open Age Game control advice please

I'm young, and the best tip I can give to you is get the older guy on side. Usually the centre half! Have a chat with him during your warm up, and keep talking during the game. Usually, in lower games, the older players have more say and control than anyone!

    Playing and refereeing

Yes Tealeaf! I stopped as soon as I started refereeing, not just because I e joyed it more, but It was too demanding to give 100% to a game in the morning and in the afternoon.

    Maintaining concentration

It sounds vain, but if I ever find myself drifting off a little, I imagine that I'm in a 30,000 seater :P

    Mark Halsey

I really liked Poll's book, and only just started Halsey's, but very much feels like a competition between them. Did anybody hear Poll's reaction to Halsey's book on TalkSport?

    Ridiculous Red Card

Like has previously been said, this for me is a yellow for time wasting, not taking off the shirt. Either way, he did take of his shirt so technically a yellow. As far as the poll goes, it should be at the referee's discretion and come under time wasting. There is no need for a separate...

Down to 6 players, 7th is sitting on the pitch

This is a different example to the first one you posted. Here, no I wouldn't abandon because he would be returning to the fop. In the first example, I would show the red card then abandon. It is not up to us to 'bend' the laws.

Down to 6 players, 7th is sitting on the pitch

Hmm, never heard that before, but I will always abandon if a team falls below the required number of players.

Ladies FA Women’s Premier League Cup

I think that Reffy is just trying to give a warning, about how comments can be misinterpreted. I see nothing wrong with 'banter' but I see what Reffy is trying to say. Lets not get into an argument about this please, and try and keep the thread on track :)

    Assisting with Penalty

To me that looks like bad communication between the officials, and possibly a case of lack of pre-match instructions or lack of listening to pre-match instructions! An awkward situation that could quite easily be avoided.

    First AR on Saturday

Trust me, not speaking Welsh will make zero difference! The same as above. Make sure you listen to the referees instructions and ask any questions no matter how silly you think they may be. Remember to flag clearly and confidently.

    Pre-Match Discussion

It has always amazed me why so few (if any) referees have told me to 'mirror', as it makes so much sense! Especially as far as subs go.
