Times Players Have Corrected You (Correctly)

Just after drop balls were changed to uncontested. Dropped it and the player just stood there, opposition player ran in and booted it away. Booked him for delaying the restart. The skipper said "don't think that's right, the ball is in play when it hits the floor"

    Insulting Language

It would be still a red card if it was directed at the player. Although the ordering of words makes it very unlikely the words weren't directed at you!

    Blood Injury Return to FOP

@socal lurker That was rather my point about the perception amongst referees. I've seen referees marked as incorrect in law for the check not being done at a stoppage. It may not usually be best practice but there are times when the blood situation is sorted before the player has even left...

    Blood Injury Return to FOP

Nearly every pre-match where blood injuries are mentioned. "Blood injuries must return at a stoppage" I'm sure most referees believe that's the actual law. I've seen this cause quite a bit of aggro when players are off the pitch for extended periods.

    Blood Injury Return to FOP

Can a player who's left the field of play due to a blood Injury return during play (ie not at a stoppage) after being checked by the assistant?

    INT v LIV

Van Dijk heads in on to Ekitike arm, which then goes to Konate - who scores. The ball the traveled a foot from Van Dijk's head before hitting Ekitike arm which is in natural position for jumping. Disallowed for handball after 5 minutes of VAR checks

Observers (Step 6 and above) To No Longer See The Overall Mark Awarded To Referees

@ChasObserverRefDeveloper The major reason referees are unhappy with reports is lack of content which isn't appealable.

Observers (Step 6 and above) To No Longer See The Overall Mark Awarded To Referees

@JamesL Prediction. This change will lower the mark around the same amount it normally creeps up and the FA will conclude the change has had no impact.

    Kilmarnock v Rangers

Both feet off the ground at pace... Goalkeepers' get far too much leeway form this type of challenge. The referee has no angle on it.

    Blackburn v Ipswich DOGSO

Easy DOGSO, suspect referee has convinced himself that the likelihood of control is an issue.

    County RDO'S

A good RDO pays for itself. More referees, more fines, money from FA for hitting KPIs etc It pays a pittance, most do it because it can fit in with a refereeing career.

    VAR and CKs

And the teams are usually going to know if a corner is incorrect so the attacking team won't try and score until the 'next phase' or they'll just knock it out and concede a throw-in right in the corner. This is so obviously flawed but when it happens they'll double down and check all corners...

    Open Age Offside, or Goal?

@cdsman It may not have gone down as a safe on the OPTA stats but that doesn't mean it's not a save by the very loose LOTG definition. “Save An action by a player to stop or attempt to stop the ball when it is going into or very close to the goal using any part of the body except the...

    Open Age Offside, or Goal?

Deliberate play for me, just poor goalkeeping. Would note that the goalkeeper could pick the ball up without a second touch infringement as he never held the ball. If it's a deliberate save as well then obviously an offside offence. "If the pass, attempt to gain possession or clearance by the...
