    Level 4 competencies

I know they have to draw the line somewhere, but spoke to my RDO last night, and he said last season a ref failed going from 5-4 by 0.2 marks, I would rather by 5 marks then be THAT CLOSE and fail.

    Laces

Personally I hold the game up. Normally it's only a matter of seconds. If I'm honest I do it for OA as well. 9/10 they say thanks ref once day. If it's gone out for a throw in I give a quick blow tell the throw to hang on put to the player and then blow it again to re start play. Why make...

    Pre-match instructiona

In relation to not given a PK. At the RA conference we were strongly advised by the EPL refs and David Ellery NOT to cut the grass. just in case you ARBis a bit eager. In pre-match tell them to let you have the 1st bit of the cherry. A big NO tells everyone it's not happening so your AR does...

    Will coloured kits be allowed.....

Excellent news in my book. I have the Diamond kit and I really like the yellow top. I am sure I could find the cash (only a few match fees) to get that.

    Tips on positioning

I have to say I agree. I got picked up on positioning at corners in my 3rd assessment - she thread. Today I took up (what seemed like an unnatural position) on the goal line. due to my position I was able to have a really clear position on who touched the ball last and have another corner. The...

    3rd assesment

Be already had my 3rd assessment. This was in a county cup game. Comments welcome - ESP an idea of a score 1. Application of Law: You inspected the field of play and checked the player’s equipment prior to the game. You recognised penal offences and restarted play correctly. In the 64th...

    HANDBALL on the line

I didn't have the chance to shout play on - it just got his hand and went in. I felt Law 18 was applied. No one complained there was no YC.
