As long as you are signalling that it is an indirect free kick (arm in the air) then it would be handball, penalty, I don't see the need for any card, I can't see what it would be for. And as for a retake, definitely not !
If you are talking about the early version of the new shape Touchline flags (and the clip that comes off easily with 1/3 of a turn, I have been told that you can get the ends of the flag sticks replaced free of charge with the newer, not so easy to undo version. Try contacting Touchline.
I have seen a couple this season where the referee is so wrapped up in 'whether there was an attempt to play the ball' or 'was it in or out of the box' and have missed the big decision of 'was there an obvious goal scoring opportunity'
Saw a keeper sent off for minimal contact, outside the box...
I was an NAR in a pre-season friendly memorial match last night. In the second half the big striker was constantly stood offside and I probably flagged him about 8 to 10 times. After the game he calls me a cheat. I don't know why we bother !
As you say:
'There is no such thing as a bad referee ... just an awful excuse for defeat!'
If you go to the next game take your Claret and Blue glasses off !
Pawson was clearly out of his depth, him being an experienced premier league referee, they should have given you the game, oh, hold on, they couldn't, you're a West Ham fan OBVIOUSLY !
The best advice I can give you is to join your local RA. You will then have the support and guidance of fellow referees to help you with these questions.
Absolutely shocking. All matches at every level should observe a minutes silence this weekend as a mark of respect for our colleague who was simply out doing what we all do every Saturday afternoon !
