Absolutely agree, I have no issue with the referee applying the laws of the game. My point was that the scoring team could perhaps have seen a bit of sense and not taken advantage of the situation.

I think I’d be a little bit disappointed with the team who scored if I was an opposing coach. I’d say the sporting thing to do would be to give the keeper the ball back or kick it out for a goal kick from the IDFK.
