Teamsheets and what age to give cards and sinbins

I would advise you to look at the leagues website and find the league handbook. It is really useful to know the specific league rules. At junior level I wouldn't imagine any of the leagues would require you to see team sheets. There is a requirement though for managers to present to the...

    Advice regarding verbal abuse/confidence

Don't beat yourself up, there are many experienced referees that will not tackle open age football so give yourself some credit for trying it. Personally, I now refer open age football to junior football. different challenges but I think more rewarding when you get it right. I've had games as...

    The end of the road?

I feel like this every weekend and the weather this year has contributed to that. Getting home, soaked, absolutely freezing, totally fed up due to the antics of players/coaches/parents (I never did like going to a zoo) so know where you’re coming from. But, the alternative is a sit and rot or...

    Sin Bin Management

Sounds like you’ve done everything you can to avoid sending a player to the sin bin. There has to be an element though of the players and team officials doing everything they can to avoid a sin bin too. Personally if a player is showing dissent especially public dissent where everyone can hear...

Junior/Youth speaking to 16+ year olds

It's difficult to offer advice without the context. You say that sometimes you say.............. then a short while back a CWO approached you after the game. You don't say what you actually said in that game or what tone you used, could it have sounded confrontational to someone on the side? I...

How long does a DBS last?

I would speak to the dbs to see where it was sent. Your dbs could have convictions on it so should always be sent to the certificate holder.

How long does a DBS last?

It is illegal to send it to anyone but the certificate holder. The certificate comes from the dbs not Fa. I can guarantee you it would’ve been sent to you

How long does a DBS last?

The original certificate goes to you not the Fa. Did you submit your documents online? You will have a dbs online account if you did to order a duplicate. You won’t get it for weekend though

How long does a DBS last?

for the FA to be able to accept it, if must be enhanced. It does have to say referee, coach or teacher but it must be for child workforce and finally a check must be included on the children’s barred list. If all 3 are present the FA can and will accept it

How long does a DBS last?

An organisation registers in order to carry out online checks but an organisation cannot subscribe to the update service, only individuals can

How long does a DBS last?

Kentref, your information is wrong. I am subscribed to the dbs update service through my job. This is child workforce and is enhanced. I had to fill in an Fa form, take it to the post office to verify my id, show them my dbs certificate and pay £5. That was 8 years ago. They accepted the dbs...

How long does a DBS last?

What policy is that out of interest?

How long does a DBS last?

Technically speaking they have no expiry date, they just have an issue date. They are out of date the day they are printed in reality as you could have offended since then. The FA ask for it to be renewed every 3 years. Only exception is if you have subscribed to the DBS update service then if...

    DBS - OA football

I would suggest doing it via your RDO rather than a club. Your DBS needs to be enhanced and for child workforce. If you do this through a club where you are not a coach, you are not undertaking regulated activity with that club so the can’t (shouldn’t) apply for an enhanced DBS. I would strongly...

    Mmm satisfying!

I agree. The point I was making is if you are deciding on disciplinary action because a player has called someone a ****, it can only be a red card.

    Mmm satisfying!

Not entirely the same result. It’s not could’ve been offinabus, it is offinabus and is a straight red rather than second yellow. Sounds pedantic I know
