Just read the A&H email and this bit at the bottom has confused me no end.
PGMOL Match Officials will continue to exclusively wear the 2023/24 jacket & pant for the 2024/25 season. Therefore, the jacket and pant you see on choice here is purely to match with the training top, polo and midlayer...
I think my tolerance levels have changed somewhat over the course of the season too to be more confident in identifying cautions (especially the more technical cautions of C4/C5)
Working on the line with more 4s at Step 5 has given me a lot more confidence in what I'm doing in the middle. Can't...
Calf injury in late August (3 weeks)
Hamstring in November (9 weeks)
Got lucky to a certain degree too with the amount of midweek games at the back end of the season, just checked my spreadsheet and realised I'd missed off last nights last game.
18x Midweek
18x Saturday
18x Sunday
31 Middles...
Also gained my Level 5 this season. Plan to have a full year as a 5 before considering whether to push for 5-4.
The time commitment with two kids and a fairly commute heavy job are the elements that's making me hold off 5-4 for now.
53rd game of the season last night, that's me done now until...
After some help if possible. I've managed to get hold of a couple of Match Shirts but they currently have the EA Sports badges on the sleeves.
Is there a safe / easy / non-damaging way of removing them at all? Don't particularly like them and would rather remove them if I'm going to use them...
There's a directive from the EFL for Academy football between U9-U16 to have no cards shown during games and enforced substitutions to be in place.
All games played on a friendly basis and no results to be published externally. I've attached the Matchday Provisions pack if that helps (and is...
100% this. I'm a 6-5, and personally I've learnt a lot this season from being an AR to L4s (some now at L3) at Step 5/6 as well as doing Academy games. Lots of little tips and different ways of working, but feel that my own middles have improved as a result.
Well worth it.
Newitts worked out cheapest for me if you're buying 3+ items (£7 delivery). £50 for the current Tracksuit but look under Football Clothing rather than Referee (Black/Volt match shirts and the shorts/socks available in that section)
Kitlocker with new buyer discount / free delivery over a...
Captain & Manager name of both teams (teams initialled home & away so for example Abbey United v Bradley United would be something like the below):
AU Ben / Steve
BU Dan / Brian
When R, I'm using a YC that's a self-made write on with the following columns:
Team/Number - Name - Minute - Code...
And it's this attitude which causes other referee's countless issues.
Disregarding laws to suit you is a hindrance to other officials, and also the participants in the game.
Similar to the other thread regarding Sin Bins, we simply cannot ignore acts of dissent by word or action simply...
Thanks for this recommendation. I've been a Fox40 ref but thought I'd try a couple of these.
Used in a game today and my ears are still ringing now! They're very loud but the tone is still great. Well worth the £4 give or take
I've used Newitts too, seem to be a few quid cheaper than other stores out there. Just bare the £7 delivery fee in mind!
Kitlocker had a 5% new customer discount and free delivery over a certain threshold too which I got the new training colourway and extra match shirt from recently which...
Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but kudos to the points above for their help for me this weekend.
I've done a couple of inspections previously for games that went ahead without problems but this was my first "in person" call off in the two years I've been refereeing. After a couple of...
After a bit of advice regarding mileage expenses and the etiquette around claiming from teams.
1. Firstly mileage, is this return journey from home to venue or one way?
2. How do you approach this with teams? I'm fairly proactive with communication with teams pre-fixture but haven't had the...
@Will_A I too had been struggling with my Achilles for a number of months (back end of last season in particular)
I rested it throughout May and after seeing a physio, was told that was definitely the wrong thing to do!
Apparently tendons need "load" and to keep active / stretched. I've been...
First post and a first year official so hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread.
Like others I'm after a better quality set of touchline flags. Have a couple of cheaper pairs currently but looking for ones with the plastic or rubber handles and better flag material. Where is the best...
