I can appreciate it's hard to recover an observation average, I suffered a couple of clangers myself last summer as an umpire. Amazing what one off day can do to scores, I just feel sometimes they need to be looked at one by one as well as an average to ensure they know why it's low (please feel...

Should one poor mark cause reclassification though? We all have off days, if people got reclassified every time they had an off day there'd be no officials above L4.

I 100% believe that. It's because we have a different attitude to many of them. If there are any observers here, don't lose it with me, this is a generalised comment at some observers, not all!

A theme of 22 year olds being reclassified? Why would they not want young promising officials? Odd. In a lot of other sports if you were promising at that age as an official you would probably get double promotions.

    Hi guys

I find the Fox 40 classic a bit boring tbh. Also, it gets very confusing at venues where you sometimes have 10 kids matches on at once and we all have the same whistle! Thought I'd prevent that.

    Hi guys

If the Sunday league ones are the really cheap ones, I use those. I have non-buzzer touchlines on the way though, as well as a new Molten Dolphin F whistle to change things up from the standard Fox 40 classic, without having to spend 2/3 match fees on the Valkeen.

    Coach fake name

As like what george said, just inform the CFA you think the name is fake. In future, you could give them a final warning about the name and see if it makes them change their mind, or not. Up to you.

Passed an exam? On my course we didn't take any exams and all qualified, receiving certificates/badges etc. Have my CFA basically forgotten something? Also, thanks for answering!

On the subject of these promotions, is it possible for people to be put down from 5 to 6? Only I didn't think it was but a few years ago a friend of my dad was a 5, stopped, he's starting again next season but has been told he has to go from level 7 again.

    VAR challenge system

😂 oh no, wouldn't want the threat of a pi55ed mom on a Sunday morning with a handbag! Steer well clear of them!

I almost feel like this is key, because my first lines would no doubt be in the lower divisions, but then I'd work up and start taking Div 2 middles as well, which would be the perfect intro.

I've got 3 Step 7 leagues with lower divisions also nearer me so will probably stick with them at least for a bit to start with. It wouldn't surprise me if the Wolves team got moved back, I was very surprised to see Stafford Rangers in Counties as well, they're only half an hour from me. Closed...

I thought about WMRL as I'm 10 minutes from Wolves city centre but I couldn't find any of their contact details. If you have them could you PM me and then I can message them first before moving into Step 5/6 straight away (it would also be of benefit because WMRL is actually under my CFA, but...

Yes it's still Debbie according to the post. Sounds great! I'll email at some point and ask how to apply etc.

Considering I'm still school age, midweeks won't be often but at the weekends I'll nearly always be available one day, if not 2. 5/6 lines are something I can consider over the summer whilst I'm doing some friendlies to see how it goes. Edit: anyone on here officiate on the NWCFL? What's it like...

    Hi guys

I do check full time because the teams don't know I've done that. It's direct conversation where I like to be careful, although in big games I do tend to say something.

Hi again, sorry to bring this back! I've just seen a post from the North West Counties Football League (steps 5&6) who are accepting applications from Levels 7-5 officials to act as ARs next season. They have teams quite close to me in Div 1 South, but also teams very far (3+hours potentiall in...
