Ball on centre circle ?

Ok I have a young cheeky player with ball only half on centre spot I tell him to
Put it in the whole spot he says it IS!! He keeps on rolling it only half on the spot was I incorrect to YC him for unsporting behaviour ?
More so I’m sure the ball must be completely on thr spot and not half on can anyone help on this

Second question first. When half the ball (or in fact any part of the ball) is in the field of play the ball is considered to be in the field of play. The centre spot work the same. So I am afraid you were incorrect.

First question. Technically you would have been correct to caution him for dissent (even though your instruction was incorrect). But given it was a trivial matter it is harsh. Better to manage it.
