I suspect that the life of a premier League referee isn't all it's cracked up to be, but they can't talk to the media, or tell the truth at events etc because it will cost them their job.

It must be rife with office politics, and also being at the mercy of accusations by anyone with a grudge, while also being unable to come out and defend yourself.

And then if you want to progress and get the good games and cup finals your face needs to fit.

The FA not wanting to send Mark Clattenberg to the Euros is a prime example. So EUFA over rulledbthe FA and selected him, and then it was him who got the final and not Martin Atkinson
