Boots or Trainers ?

As i am only about to start my first season as a ref i need to get my self some shoes. What would people advice to get astro turf trainers or football boots ?

Personally I use to carry hard and soft ground boots aswell as astro trainers, depends on how hard/soft the ground is.

I would advise against astros unless you are regularly refereeing on 3G artificial surfaces. A black pair of running trainers will see you through better as they provide more support under foot on hard ground. The old style carpet astroturf has less give than hard ground when running on it, and in my experience astros do not compensate for it very well which can lead to ankle and knee swelling.

I've found a cheap pair of Adidas blades that have been perfect for hard ground. I can't do trainers when reffing/lining for some reason.
