I was wondering what peoples opinions are, I'm looking at treating myself to a new Kit and am going to have both the FAMOA badge and my county badge on them, i want to know what people prefer in terms of having both badges embroidered or having the FAMOA printed and then the county badge embroidered or the other way round?

Many Thanks

One thing to bear in mind is that embroidery runs the risk of the loss of use of the pocket that is embroidered so for that reason I prefer a decal.

that's not been an issue when i've got it before, though it has been a few years (from A&H)

Ive only ever had embroidery from a and h so probably explains my experience
Edited my post 😁

Dunno who did that embroidery... Whenever I have had the FA badge embroidered it has just been woven in, no funny black bits around. That looks like someone has just stitched a badge on, which is not really what embroidery is

That's how it came, so I've not bought embroidery since... I've since had my mum stitch on the FA badge I received after I qualified and that looks a lot cleaner. I do still prefer the decal as it kind of blends in with the kit a bit more (not that it makes much difference whatsoever lol)

EDIT - I won't say where it's from as I don't want to make them look bad and everything I've ordered since has been perfect - ie. the decal shirt

Bear in mind that some competitions require their officials to wear a badge for officials in that competition only, and as you progress the FA badge will be the norm.

I’ll stick to my double sided sticky tape. Mainly coz I’ve got Adidas kits and can’t be arsed taking them somewhere to be embroidered 🤣

I use iron on badges for mines. Not as clean as ordering direct from SFA, same as Alex, the referee would be separate but they’ll definitely do the job. 12DBA862-5D1A-4553-901B-2C7B074D89F8.jpeg

I have both types. Never had a decal come off a kit shirt, but it's slightly peeling off a tracksuit jacket. With embroidery, I have had one coming off slightly and the other fine (but bends into a strange crescent shape after a season, probably because I only use one setting on the washer & drier!). So decal means the shirt doesn't deform slightly.

So to summarise, both are poor and good. Good luck.

I've had both decal and embroidery from A&H and The RA Shop, never had any major issues with either.

The embroidered badge I have does need 'moulding' flat after coming out the washer to stop it from drying creased but that's about as much extra care it needs
