How long to wait?

I am currently a level 8 referee and I am keen to start working my way up the ladder. Next year will be the first whole season when I can do open age football (although whether I will is another matter) - how long is it advisable to wait before applying for promotion? (I know you have to do 20 games)

Its all down to you and how far you want to push yourself, I would give yourself a year in OA football before going for promotion just to give you a bit of experience in the age group and the different challenges you can face.
