Local council has postponed all matches on their pitches due to the weather..... ok fair enough.
One of the pitches however is just around the corner from me, which is where the dog takes me for a walk.
So today i looked at the pitch and apart from it being a tad on the soft side( to be expected after all that H2O)
It was playable, and i've seen a lot worse.Not even raining........................

Our council used to do the same on about 5-6 times a season. After being lobbied by referees, clubs, leagues and the County FA they agreed to let the referees make the decision in 9/10 cases. They now publicise the fact that it is the referee's decision when the fields are in a poor state. As a consequence, fewer postponements and when they are postponed, everyone accepts the decision.
