Referee kicks out at player during PSG match

...he might get away with it, coupled with some public act.

.,,and that thankfully it didn't look as bad as i was execting. I was prepared for Eric Fu!
I still can't see why you think that he might be able to get away with it and I'm not quite sure what you mean by a 'public act' - do you mean an act of apology? If so, then going back to my previous argument, if we wouldn't let a player off for kicking someone just because they apologise for it next day, why would we let a referee off? We can't hold referees to a lesser standard of behaviour than players, if anything it should be a higher standard.

Anyway, it looks unlikely that he will 'get away with it' - he's already been suspended from refereeing until further notice and according to TalkSport:

Pascal Garibian, the French Football Federation's technical director for referees, criticised Chapron's "loss of control" in the incident.

"His action was unacceptable," Garibian told L'Equipe. "I will not say more than that, it is for the LFP disciplinary commission to decide on.

Tony Chapron apologises

Wasn't suggesting he shouldn't be punished Lord Vader.

Just that I was expecting mad cannibal kung foo rather than a flick.
