Refereeing with assistants

What do you say in your pre match to assistants. Refereeing a friendly this weekend with assistants and wondering what to say pre match ?

The Referee Store
Depends on many things. Have you worked with them before? How experienced are they? How experienced are you? Game level, Etc

In either case, keep it short (around 3 minutes, no more than 5), relatively simple and practical. Use the section at the back of the book about practical guidelines on team work as a guide.

These are presumably club assistant referees rather than qualified neutrals(?)
If so, keep it simple:
1. Signal ball out of play, and the method of restart if you know it (e. g. Red throw, Blue throw)
2. Only signal offside if the ball goes towards that player - and still wait to see whether s/he gets involved before you flag
3. Please don't signal for any fouls
Enjoy the game!

Have some faith in them. Some assistants I work with are better referees than I am. :)
May well be true with qualified assistants, but the OP is a new junior referee, so will have club assistants - in England we recommend club assistants should be limited to out of play/offside, not other offences.
