U18's ref campaign

Morning everyone

My 14 year old started refereeing in Sept 2019 and was abused, intimidated and sworn at during his first game. (He had carried on reffing though).

Being new to all this, I was shocked and very disappointed at the whole reporting process, lack of support from our CFA and the process of personal hearings. I have a complaint with the national FA at the moment over the way our CFA handled it.

Anyway, as I have been hearing more about this process from other parents and young referees is seems there is a lot that needs to change.

I am looking for referees that have been through the process of reporting abuse to their CFA (when they were U18) to give me feedback, by completing a questionnaire. Mark Ives, Head of Judicial Services at the FA has said that he is very keen to hear the feedback. Refs Support UK are also supporting me in this, as well as a number of RA's.

Please contact me at C.travers68@btinternet.com.

The summary of the questionnaires will be anonymous.

Talksport have also taken up the story and the campaign.
