Who's on the ladder at the moment?

Having not had high enough marks for 5 to 4 I'm at it again. 3 middles, 2 lines done and a commitment to concentrate on games with NARs rather than on my own.

I'm going for 7-6, I've got two assessments out of the way, so have 1 more to go and then hope my club marks are high enough.

Next season I'm aiming for two middles a week 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday with Sunday being a mixture of OA men and OA women for a bit of variety and Saturday being OA men.

I've also registered as an AR for the Ryman u21 league to get more experience on the line and to work with more experienced officials.

Will be trying for my 4 so sure our paths will cross again ... learnt lots over the last few seasons but well aware that the competition in our area is tough. Might see you at a fitness test!

Don't have the time to even think about promotion in fairness. Rather leave the slot to someone who can maintain it, instead of being a bed-blocker.

I am going for 4 this season and have already had three assessments so am pretty chuffed. Everything is clicking nicely into place at the moment so I don't really want the season to end. My wife does though!!!

I've not heard about this season yet, although I believe I haven't done enough for the promotion and will remain at my current level (rough equivalent of a 5)

:)

I'm going 7-6.

Had two assessments so far (one above standard, one standard), passed the promotion exam so just need a good final assessment.

Glad it hasn't come before the end of the season, been struggling with injury last few weeks so not sure I'd be able to do it justice.

Looking forward to a nice break, getting right and pushing on.

I'm on the way back down, just finishing my first season as a level 5 after 5 years at L4 and 5 years at L3 - actually my first ever season as a L5 as I went from 6-4. Absolutely no intention of ever going back above L5 again and very much enjoying local games and going where and when I want rather than getting shipped 100 miles away on a Tuesday night ..!!.

Everyone in England will be a Level 5 from 2017/18 season according to the FAs publication earlier this week. Still in consultation mode, but the intent was clear...promotion to L4 is based on a minimum number of matches/experience criteria.

Personally, want to progress as high as I can. Just got my L4 of course, but if they want to move me up again I'll take it, and will certainly be giving my all. I'm hitting 40 in the coming season, and I figure I'll only have 5 or so years at most to progress before I think about stopping.

So confused as to how promotion is going to work at grassroots level, as well as how someone becomes eligible to apply for L4 under this new system

I'm not chasing promotion this year, I just want to enjoy where I've got to!
Well you don't get a choice. Perform well, please observers and clubs and your name will be in the frame. Perform badly, upsetting either or both and you'll find yourself being supported but at risk of coming off again after your second season.

And assessment by observers who will adjudge potential as well as technical ability and talent.

The word chasing was key to my comment, I'm aware that if I perform I can still get promotion, it's just that this year just gone Promotion was the aim.

After losing almost 7 stone in the past year, decided to go for my 5. Have had 2 assessments so far, one above standard, one expected standard. Fitness still an issue as I have a couple of stone still to lose and I'm old, but my weight doesn't seem to be too much of a block any more. Anyone out there know if I'm on the right track for 5 or am I too low?

In the brave new world, we're all going to be 5 don't forget from 17/18.

Although reading the detail the other night, it does seem that there WILL be classifications within that level, with those eligible for promotion/development identified.
