Local League, bottom tier Arrive 14:15 - 14:30: meet managers, ask how season is going, ask if they have team sheets, ask if they have flags and assistants, quickly tell them to tell assistants only outs and offsides. Check balls (I have my own pump/gauge so will top up their bag of balls)...

I think you've just answered your own thread. I normally do what the person who provided feedback suggested (whistle as @Big Cat said), just not on this occasion because it was a final (heaving on the whistle).

Why abandon a league that appoints you to 5 cup finals. Over two abandonments? Seems a tad excessive.

For me, the blood is a bit of a pain. You don't want him competing getting blood everywhere, or even hanging around getting it on himself and on someone else. I'd be looking to stop play if there isn't a promising attack ongoing. If he got involved in the promising attack, I would stop play...

Every handful of games, one just goes really well and everyone is full of praise. I tend to not overthink it at the time (as usually the praise is a backhand at another colleague). But I do think about them weeks after the game and they make me enjoy it.
