Ok so thanks to Jeff I have had the safeguarding course refunded. But absolutely nothing still so I will investigate the local leagues and still what I can come up with.

Thank you all, this thread has been very helpful and I honestly had no idea that their are 'time wasters' so understand a bit more why barriers have to be thrown up. It doesn't help someone in my situation though! I get the timing thing as well, but of course Somerset FA chose to do the training...

So, rant alert .. but they don't make it easy for people to train to be a referee. I am not connected to a club and have never been a player so perhaps I am an anomaly but here is what I have had to do so far... 1. Pay £10 and attend a pre - referees workshop 2. Pay £130 and attend...

I am with you, Finding it frustrating as well that we have not heard a thing. I also had to pray for a safeguarding workshop and a new kit, so I was thinking today that the initial outlay is about £200!

I wonder if Benn is glad he asked for this feedback now?! ;)

So, I have been looking around for my first kit. I would like the Adidas 2016 one, purely because it looks like what I wear in my day job and I think its funny in a weird kind of way ;). Companies like A &H and the RA shops only seem to sell the rather nice Nike 2016 kit, and they nicely sew on...

Guessing you get the badge to sew on once you have qualified?

I realise that I won't need it until my first game, but is there any reason why I shouldn't buy a kit now?
