The Ref Stop

Level 5 Secured :)

The Ref Stop
Had confirmation I had successfully been promoted to Level 5 today, well chuffed.

That’s me done for promotions now though :)

Congrats I had aspirations of climbing the ladder like a Fireman when I did my ref course recently, after my first few games incharge i’ll be lucky to climb a Bonsai Tree.

Big respect well done.

Thanks pal. It does get easier I promise.

Just take it steady, don’t rush yourself and get your experience.

Well done pal. Are you going to the curry night on 12th March?
Good to see you back on here.

RR is spot on, experience is everything in my book too, you may think you’re Howard Webb as a young ref but it takes those 50-100 games plus to gather the situational awareness that shows what works and what doesn’t. I’m never convinced by assessments or anything like that as all games are different. A cake walk between two teams of vicars is massively different to any game where one tackle can change the whole game southwards! It takes 3-4 years to become a properly qualified ref IMO regardless of any level it says on a certificate.

No mate. Changed jobs middle of last year and i’m working so hard it’s unreal. 12-14 hour days most days so even weekday evenings are precious.

To be honest with that and a broken foot i’ve probably only done a handful of games in the last 3 months.

Have fun though!

Well done to all recipients of promotion, there is always next year. if it didn't happen. Its not a sprint race. You'll always benefit from the experience if you didn't get through too.
