Brentford V Villa re refereeing?!

Apart from it doesn't work like that. Even though VAR corrects the decision the referee, and any ARs / 4th official deemed to be complicit, will get given an incorrect KMD and get a maximum mark of 7.9.
I do think there is an element, probably subconsciously, that referees will go yellow and allow VAR to intervene if needed. I don't have any stats, but I'd imagine there are a lot more yellows upgraded to reds than there are the other way around. The Newcastle vs Wolves is a prime example of this. Not a clue how he didn't get red straight away.

Not convinced on how bothered they would be on the mark they get once they get to PL. They're highly unlikely to be demoted permanently, so a poor mark may mean doing a Championship game one week. But their marks carry a lot less weight compared to a L4,3 etc.
