Ouch...and yeah just a frustrated referee. The later sounds great.......But yeah move the thread to where it belongs.
I have now moved on to working for free only....if anyone has some jobs please let me know..........
I know... Wrong category and maybe wrong forum.... who knows but what a tragedy. My last USSF post apparently got too personal so maybe I will leave my name out.
But for real, 120 dollars with no gear included being paid less than last season.....
Oh well.... guess we will continue to be...
Scotty thats a great post. I say call it as you see it, I have already told my daughter that I would toss her if she was out of line and most players know it . I believe that if you feel that you can call the game as a referee then you call the game as you see it.
I have tossed the...
Thanks, Shef. It is a mess here for the smaller communities among others for the referee program. I am going back to work for free on the real grassroots level here in AYSO and will not renew my license. It's a **** show here as far as US Soccer goes and they will hopefully figure it out...
Sad to say I will not be refereeing the Kauai Interscholastic Federation soccer this season. Nor Hawaii State Youth Association either. I put up the names because everyone at least here needs a title. This is a call out to the small grassroots league. We have less than 600 players and per season...
My name is ............ here on the island of Kauai. Grade 7 referee, Grade 8 assignor, and past Kauai referee admin. I call you all out here first and foremost. I am not going to make this a lovely email for you.
You all in the referee department in the US have dropped the ball for over 10...
Aloha everyone and I hope everyone is well. It's been a long time, I needed to take a very long break after this past season and really hope everyone has had some great matches. The USSF referee department here is a mess and its troubling. I dropped out because I could not get any help at my...
What age group is this? It seems fairly young. If this is U12 and under I say "Play on!". We have kit requirements here as well and were are so laid back that I make sure to remind the teams that are going to the finals off the island to wear the same color undergarment in High School.
I mean...
Several items......
First off hats off Ossie on some outstanding refereeing! A lot of us here are hardcore referees and a lot of us are beyond that into the admin side of things. A lot of the referees I know do not have the balls to show reds when they should. This is grassroots 101 and a great...
I use my voice when needed and straight to the point. The players I referee know how I referee and those that do not hear it from me in my pregame speech. Mostly youth stuff here with some occasional men's league but I let them know what I do not like and what I tolerate. I mostly say things...
Great read and thanks for sharing. Whether you are grassroots or premier league, refereeing will help you become a better human and it takes balls to make the calls that we make. Only referees know this and why we are a team no matter where we come from and what level we are at. You have my back...
Why not send them both off for violent conduct? I dont get it... referee does not have the balls to enforce the laws. If someone pushes someone so hard to knock them to the ground after the whistle has blown, thats a red card for me all day long.
I see a clear red for the tackle that caused the player to throw the boot. But what are we really looking at for the second red for boot throw? I don't see that. At this point, and I am not a world class referee but I would definitely let that one slide for a send-off. I don't see a red for that...
Agreed Shef and good advice as a parent of a referee. She will do fine and I will most likely just tell her to work her magic as she knows best. She is her own human as we all are and can only learn from the experience.
