Something to focus his mind could really help. I work in the addictions field, having activities to fill your time is essential if you want to conquer your demons, otherwise you do your detoxification and then have a huge void in your life where alcohol consumption used to be. Leaves you wide open to relapse.

If he can focus his mind and get dry, what better coach could you have than probably the most gifted footballer of his generation. That's a big if though.
