Human error to blame...apparently they drew the line on the wrong defender...beggars belief
There’s 90 minutes in a gameSo, a second team that VAR has cost 3 points today.
Except that I'd argue there's nothing all that 'special' about yesterday's VARYep, a spectacularly bad day for var
Two very tight draws between competitive sides. Brentford created very little and were completely outplayed (typical tight away performance). There’s 90 minutes in a game
Maybe that gushing interview you did with head of FIFA before VAR was introduced to the UK was not such a good idea Gary?This...this...1000 time this...get a grip and sort it out
Yeah this is identical to the Fabinho FA cup foul on Ferguson against Brighton, which PGMOL admitted should've been a red, so very surprised he wasn't off hereSame game. Was very surprised Macalister wasn't sent off for a challenge early on. He got a caution but surprised that it wasn't reviewed by VAR.
The assistant VAR's assistant shoe polisher noticed but since it wasn't his job, he didn't say anything. Is there only one person in the bunker? I can see a one person process error going unnoticed like this but I know there are assistants and assistant's assistants and offside assistants. Someone should have noticed. Even if it was the VAR room water boys assistant.
It wouldn't happen in banana republic either where they draw the lines on the screen with a ruler and a white board marker.Wouldn't happen in the MLS
It's nothing like the Fabinho foul. He lunged off his feet from behind, Mac Allister appears to be much more in control here. Not saying it shouldn't have been a red, but I don't see a comparison between the challenges.Yeah this is identical to the Fabinho FA cup foul on Ferguson against Brighton, which PGMOL admitted should've been a red, so very surprised he wasn't off here
They have technical support staff in there to help them. There was a good point made on Twitter, are the appointed VAR officials tech savvy, you can be the best current or ex-referee in the world but useless with technology. I don’t know Neil Swarbrick but at 57 is he confident with VAR which is more like EA Sports FIFA than refereeing on grass. It does seem so strange a whole room of VAR officials none of them picked up these errors. What is their purpose of being in the room?
