Update to - https://www.refchat.co.uk/threads/just-refereed-my-first-ever-game-w-mentor.14269/
Hi all,
Just wanted to bring you an update to let you all know how refereeing is going.
As stated, I'm doing the club's referee program (before getting the course funded) with another boy about my age, however the mentor believes I need to go from U8s-U9s up to U12s, which is awesome, as I've really been enjoying myself, and most importantly getting handshakes and ''well done ref'' at the end of the games. I've felt myself becoming ever more experienced in terms of equipment and commonsense with refereeing. Signals, linesman with U11s I have gotten the hang of now, as well as whistle tones and foul recognision.
Of course, I've had some controversial moments including penalty shouts etc, but on the whole I've felt so much more comfortable, relaxed and enjoyable from the first game, which was tense, whistle around my neck, big stopwatch in hand, etc haha.
Can't wait to become qualified! (hopefully lol)
Cheers!
