hi, i am confused about whistles i have a fox 40 and everyone says its great but i find i have to blow very hard to get a decent sound out of it, is it meant to be like it or have a got a dodgy one?

Nope, thats just how it is! What 'model' Fox 40 is it? You will find that it takes a bit of feeling to get it blown when you first begin, but the more you use it, the easier it will get. Try it around the house so that you get used to it a bit before you use it on the pitch :)
 
No problem :) There is a video on here somewhere on how to use a whistle, I will try and find it later on :)
