are there really games in stadiums that don’t use multiple balls anymore?
The EFL only allowed it from this season, pretty sure there are lots of leagues that still don't.

Interesting. Here it is the norm even in youth games.
Unless it has changed recently it is banned at all semi-pro levels below EFL in England. And with good reason. When I was L4 and L3 I did many senior lines at grounds with athletic tracks, Chelmsford City being the most common. At 0-0 and when they were losing the kit man had a bag of balls and was ever willing to throw them on, was a nightmare as an AR to try and stop him. The very second they went in front that bag of balls disappeared and getting a replacement ball was a mission.
I've never been aware of any restriction on this but I can appreciate the potential problems it might cause.
