    Injury woe

The numbness soon goes and the feeling returns after 4 - 6 weeks and touch wood it's been great ever since. I get the odd twinge on a very rare occasion but the actual nerve is severed. I was soon back running about. I actually still.have the scar after all these years.

    Injury woe

I had this same problem quite a few years back and after numerous and unsuccessful sterioid injections I had surgery. At hospital for the morning and out by 4pm and walking around in a strange built up boot for 2 weeks. Touch wood I've had no issues since and have a neat 'battle scar down the...

    Educating

Good call Ciley. I was guiding before they took the throw ins. I have noticed though that coaches don't seem too bothered about their players taking a direct throw in. I really appreciate your input.

    Educating

It was just getting a little tiresome watching these infringements. Technically as expected for a Cat One Academy the football was excellent but the basics of being able to take a simple throw in was extremey worrying. I thought that perhaps I was helping in players development and also setting...

    Educating

Greetings guys. I had an under 13 Academy fixture yesterday as AR. When throw ins were being taken players whole feet were on the pitch and some players even standing on one leg. Obviously I flagged to alert my colleague in the middle. After 5 of these I started instructing players 'behind the...

    Throw in Signals

Afternoon guys. I was AR this afternoon for an U14 Academy fixture and I seemed to struggle with the signals on throw in's. My brain told me which team the throw in belonged to but my arm just didn't want to know. The ref was actually pretty patient with me and I redeemed myself (i think) with...

    What should I of done?

Afternoon guys. I weekly officiate a 5 aside league just for some extra pocket money and had an incident last night that troubling me. I gave a decision against Blue Team and I heard '****ing cheat' shouted at me but I wasn't too sure who said it so I asked who said it. There was no answer...

Open Age Stupid things players say #9625

I was officiating a veterans game during the summer when I awarded a blatant penalty to which one of the players ran up to me screaming obscenities and then shouldered me. As I reached for my red card he then told me that I couldn't send him off as it was only a friendly!

    Binning a player manager

Hello, Park football usually is a 'first aider' with perhaps a bucket and sponge but at pro type level (from my experience) Physios can be reported for their untoward behaviour. A pro ref that I speak to quite regularly says he wouldn't dismiss the teams physio as they are aware of medical...

    Newbie

Hi guys! Finally taken the plunge and have booked on my refs course in June. I'm really looking forward to joining the ranks of the 'men in black'. I've been working in professional academy football for 14 years now as a physio and have always been interested in the laws of the game.
