It can't be just my games that every time the ball hits someone's hand/arm the players get so damn angry about it being handball?
The rules state:
Handling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with the hand or arm.
The following must be considered:
• the movement of the hand towards the ball (not the ball towards the hand).
• the distance between the opponent and the ball (unexpected ball).
• the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an offence.
I had a game yesterday, It was 1-1 and in the 88th minute (of course to make it all more dramatic) there was a bit of pin ball on the edge of the area and the ball hit the defenders arm. The attacker who kicked it was no more than 1 meter away and the player's arm remained in the same position throughout. His arms were in a normal position for what was going on.
I dismissed it and the defending team went on a counter attack, so the players soon shut up and ran back instead of moaning. Obviously at FT the players and a very angry manager came over and gave their 2 cents.
Would you agree that the PL and these 'pundits' don't help when it comes to grassroots? It appears players and coaches expect a FK every time it hits the hand.
