I have just been appointed my first ever cup final and don't know what to expect from it. Does anybody have and pointers or advice? It would really help me a lot

Assuming it's on the line, not a middle if it's your first one.
The ref will contact you and tell you what they want in terms of meeting time etc. You will need to go smartly dressed.
Then follow the instructions on their pre match and enjoy it, but remember it's still another game of football!

I'm Hampshire. Standard thing to happen is everyone gets together somewhere for an evening, all the appointments are dished out, guest speaker, reminder from county what's expected of you (wear a tie, don't rock up pissed, clean your boots, that kind of thing) etc etc. As I've said before, hope you've got 4th official on the under 8s so you can hit the buffet and bugger off early.
