    Travelling to Sub Continent

Re Bangladesh, I had a colleague who visited. His driver pulled up outside the office he was visiting. My colleague opened the car door to get out, and realised he had to manoeuvre himself over a dead body in the gutter.

    RC in a friendly

I agree in principle with @Padfoot, but I'm hoping that he wouldn't apply those same principles to the first game of a 14 year old being in the middle... As has been previously pointed out - those six matches are where you find out for yourself whether refereeing is really for you or not, and...

    RC in a friendly

Wasn't aware of that. I would still be of the opinion though that VC = Red, friendly or not. Anything else that is ITOOTR can be managed appropriately.

    RC in a friendly

And the player who should have walked ends up scoring the deciding goal in a match that means the team wins their league, when he shouldn't have been playing under the totting up process. Unintended consequences. If the teams want a true "training" game, get a coach to referee. We would object...

    Travelling to Sub Continent

I've been travelling a couple of times a year to India for the last 15 years. If you can, stick to eating local food, and in my experience even street food is fine. The worst thing you could choose to eat is a club sandwich (which is a fairly common emergency fallback for food when travelling)...

How I can record the game ?

I think a discussion from some time ago indicated that the laws do not allow for you to wear any form of camera. The only legal option from a LotG perspective would be to set up a camera on a tripod at the side of the pitch, which would be fully legal to do on public land (on private land you...

    LOTG 17/18

I order one each year from my CFA when I re-register. Surprised not all CFA's offer the same option.

    Blue Cards - Best Source

I have to source a dozen or so blue cards for referees to use at our tournament in a few weeks. Other than A+H (because of their high P&P cost), does anyone know of a good source for these. In this instance, Google has not particularly been my friend. I'm considering buying a big piece of blue...

    Law Changes

The proposals for the shortening of halves is disguising the real intent behind the proposal. My emphasis. If the clock is stopped whenever the ball is out of play, that means it doesn't matter how long the ball is out of play for, because it is having no impact on the clock. Surprise...

    Junior/Youth Trip by coach?

And was the coach possibly the only responsible adult with the team, in which case you would have to consider abandoning rather than just sending away the coach. Perhaps the ref made a genuine mistake with the restart as well.

    Saudi Arabia Team!

What Saudi Arabia need is someone to go out there with huge experience of the application of the laws of the game so that they understand better what they can get away with...oh, wait...!

Keeper scores from a throw out in open play

A parent moaning at the ref citing some made up law that a goal scored against his child's team should not stand? I'm shocked! Whatever next? Good call, well done.

Minute of silence before a game

This gobsmacks me. OK, there may be the very rare occasion where you strongly disagree with someone's beliefs or what they represent, and so if a minutes silence is held in their honour you don't want to partake, but I've never known anyone who hasn't wanted to take part. You have "national"...

    WRCFA Coloured Shirts

:D Just like they do now. Except when they don't. And then those clubs complain about the ref being in black confusing their players, and ask if the ref can wear a bib. There _is_ one colour for the whole country, and it is black. But I agree, one alternative would be great (hey, they could...
