Impedance - Is it always clear cut

He's not stuck a leg out whatsoever, not done anything wrong apart from stand his ground. Penalty is extremely harsh, red card is even harsher but hey, if we all could look back on videos then we wouldn't make mistakes ey...

    Getting Fixtures

Evening gents, Basically situation is that the Saturday league that I ref on are taking the michael out of me basically and I'm not getting anywhere near the amount of games I expected or want. I'm throwing away the opportunity to make plans with my saturdays or return to my old stewarding job...

    Squaring Up

Bugger them. They know the rules. One league I ref in they pay before, another it's "immediately after". If I'm waiting more than 10 mins without good reason then I'll go home and take my payment via cheque from the league.

So... I Started Getting The Cards Out This Weekend

Wish I could get 4 games a weekend. Struggle to get 2 sometimes. With the cards and the abuse you get as a result, ignore it. When I first started reffing two years ago I'd get a card out maybe every other game, this season I've had just 2 in 11 or so middles where I haven't got cards out, and...

    Great Day!!

Quite jealous of these other counties... unheard of here to have an 7 in the middle with NARs, let alone an 8!!

    Weird one

Completely understand and take on all points above. Thanks all. Looking back once again I think I just couldn't find it in my heart to reduce them to 8 when generally it was a decently contested and relatively well played game...

    Best advantages you've played

How was it not? He had a pretty great chance of scoring and don't know how he didn't to be fair EDIT: Wait I see, I guess I should rephrase: "almost blew for a foul right at my feet when the ball ran through..."

    Weird one

He did smash him to be fair, and maybe it was deserving of a YC. To be fair though, it was one of those that really should be a caution (looking back in hindsight), but I guess myself I was just thinking "they're already down to 9, nobody wants the guy to walk... why shoot myself"?

    Best advantages you've played

Played a cracker today, almost blew as the ball run through to somebody who looked a bit offside, quick peek across, no flag from CAR, arms spread and loud shout, player smashes the post followed by rebounding it onto the bar. I was quite disappointed in him

    Open Age Ball thrower

I suppose it's the never-ending "you have to be there" cliche, but from what was described, the ball was thrown with intentions to hit the opponent, it successfully did, and therefore is violent conduct.

    Dissent - Spectators

Had a U16s parent at the beginning of the season go nuts (and I mean crazy nuts!) at me for putting my finger to my lips towards her son who was getting very lippy. Funnily enough in the end he got himself a caution, and his coach hauled him off just as he saw him about to say something else...

    Open Age Ball thrower

What if a player throws a rock at you/someone, but not with excessive force?
  16. E

    Weird one

72nd minute of U18s, losing team are 5-1 down, one of their players gets smashed by a guy already on a yellow. The team that were 5-1 up were already down to 9, they only started with 10 and I walked one for a second yellow already. Anyway, I blow the foul and am thinking about a second yellow...

    4th min red card

Well if everyone is sure the ball is over the line then he can't of denied a goalscoring opportunity. :D Well played, ref

    Sick

I get the burning, sicky sensation in my throat sometimes too, generally happens every once in a while during any physical activity. Can be due to things you eat beforehand (night before even) etc... trick I found that works is a freeze gel on the neck as soon as you feel it start to come on...
