Ladies U17 v Open Age friendly

Very very nervous. First middle involving any players of open age but to be given it shows confidence I guess. Should be played in good spirits though

Best Ground you have refereed at or ran line?

Managed to reach the dizzying heights of a few semi-pro grounds: Hurlford Utd, Rob Roy and Petershill Also Hampden...the astro pitch 100 yards away used by Queens Park youth. It is apparently the same dimensions though! Best for me was Petershill (was actually a SWPL game) it was my first line...

    Bizarre injuries

Friend texted me an hour ago and instantly thought of this thread: "Getting lift home from the charity game. Done something to my right pointing finger dislocated I think bent it back with the lanyard"

    Video technology

Yes I am aware of that. A lot more may be at stake but when it comes down to it no matter what competition it's eleven human beings against another eleven human beings. We should work to include everyone in improvements to officiating not just the Premier League and it's pals. I know that won't...

Ridiculously easy question of the day!

That second one though...reminds me of one of Rey Mysterio's explosive dropkicks

Ridiculously easy question of the day!

If I'm in the ref's position, especially as a defender comes across completely blocking his view at the exact moment, that could look like him trying to play the ball down the channel and totally ballsing it up. From the camera angle though there's no doubt he meant it.

    Video technology

Challenges is a good way to work it and it has worked in tennis. I have a massive problem with 5, can't have a more strict official upgrading an "orange" yellow to an "orange" red could create friction within refereeing teams. A lot of questions need answered before it is implemented in my...

    Video technology

I'm flabbergasted you think an entire league can be decided by (non-fixed) refereeing decisions! And yes of course the EPL clubs could. Why are they the only clubs getting help? All that technology and extra officials to help the top level of the game. Never mind the rest of us. I believe it is...

    Video technology

I think there is still a decision to make: you can't put every single decision to the video screen. Fans will soon be moaning about suspect tackles not getting put through to the video ref. It won't make much of a difference to help us in my opinion. Like Southend-ref says it will slow the game...

    Highlights

Starting my course in January and passing it in March. My first games in 7-a-side, full of funny moments On the line for games in the Scottish Womens Premier League and West Region Juniors Getting told I look like Manuel Neuer by three different players And my best performance of the season so...

Ridiculously easy question of the day!

My thoughts also! Makes it an easy decision for the ref in the end.

    Neil Warnock

"We're at the Etihad Stadium suppose we should get used to things" what a clown. Just sounds like someone in the stands. And yes bad error not in position perhaps because play was right at the goal line before hand, doesn't excuse it though. But no I don't think it would have finished...

    Pockets

I am forever paranoid about cards falling out of my side pockets, has this happened to anyone?

    Neil Warnock

Bumping his gums yet again would have thought this prat would know better. Claiming his Palace team could have got a result had their goal to make it 2-1 away to Manchester City stood. He is a total disgrace to football. Despite the match finishing 3-0 and Man City having 73% possession and 3...

    Poor, poor game

I know exactly the kind of team you mean. The strong team after every goal giving it big licks "let's get 20" or asking their keeper if they want a shot outfield, incredibly ungracious in victory. It will probably draw criticism but I'd rather the pitch was waterlogged or the match was close but...

Junior/Youth They're coaching from both sides ref??

They have it for Pro Youth up here as that is a requirement of the academy leagues. Local YFLs don't have that kind of money though. They're frequently rolled out at summer football festivals though and contribute to a fun competitive atmosphere when I've been able to use them

Junior/Youth They're coaching from both sides ref??

That's a bit off in my opinion, I think giving both teams a bit of encouragement and being positive would do no harm but actual coaching/instructions I'm not so sure.

Junior/Youth They're coaching from both sides ref??

Ctrl-F "Respect" "sideline" "touchline" in the league's big PDF found nothing related appeared for any of the terms. Was just confused given the extent of the outrage from the coach.

    Liverpool Red

Same here, but how do you discern between the two is something I've wondered
