this is similar to the discussion the other day. i agree with your 4 points i think thats the ideal. although i do think if you as ref have a spare kit and can wear it and still report i dont see an issue. surely its better for the game to go ahead and the team deal with the consequences instead...

One bit of advice the papers are great but please don't rely on them too much. The questions can be very different to that in the practices and as I've said to someone else doing it remember the questions are only a guide

Couldn't agree more. There are more at fault in this situation than just the team and the ref.

If it's the difference between the game going ahead and not that depends. I'm not saying do it every week but if it's a one off then do it and report to the league

Perfectly normal. Most of the time they do it to make you doubt yourself!

If it was a league game postpone it or tell the team to wear bibs. It's not acceptable so I would have abandoned the game and notified the fa why you have done so. They will usually follow it up pretty quick!

If you ask for a mentor they will sort you one hopefully but don't automatically get assigned unfortunately.
