    Half Time

Cheers guys. As I said, I couldn't really move away any further due to where the pitch was (or I'd be in someones garden!). It didn't really effect my performance, just a first to hear a half time team talk make such a reference to the referee.

    Going from 7 to 6 - Jump to 5?

Cheers guys. I contacted my RDO and he said I was eligible and recommended I go for it (apparently an e-mail was going to go out to candidates who had already had 3 assessments this week....) I'm going for it anyway!

    Half Time

To be fair it was difficult to get of earshot at this pitch. I ignored it tbf - Luckily there were no further dissent issues in the game (apart from a quiet word in a captains ear to tell one of his players to behave).

    Going from 7 to 6 - Jump to 5?

I was speaking to a fellow referee over the weekend who is, like me, going for promotion from 7 to 6. He told me that if you did "double everything" (ie 40 games & be assessed 6 times), then you could jump to promotion for 5? Is he talking rubbish?

    Assessment basics

Just to add to the debate, I've been assessed 3 times already for this promotion season, and I wasn't given advanced warning for any of them. I would have thought it would just be common courtesy for the assessor to say they are turning up more than anything tbf.

    Women's FA Cup

    Half Time

During my game on Sunday, the 2 teams were having there half time team talks on the pitch as standard, and I was milling around on the touchline having a drink. I could overhear someone from the home team telling the players "we know the referee is an f'ing joke, but there's no need to tell him...

    pre season friendly

Aye, gone down that route but they are just listed under the old league they played in. I'll contact the FA.

    pre season friendly

Trying to avoid that option as I'm not too keen on speaking to them again! I've asked the manager off the opposition but he didn't know.

    pre season friendly

Similar to this, I had a friendly where I cautioned 2 players, however for one of the teams I have no idea what league they are in now as they have moved over the summer. What's the best way to report this?

    Open Age Being assaulted

Just for some closure on this, I've had confirmation he's been banned for 6 months, and the police have sent his letter of apology....

    Open Age Christian Leagues

I referee in the Derby Church league. Nothing different to a normal OA game, expect we have a prayer before the game.

    Open Age Being assaulted

Mine was after my game, so wasn't able to abandon it, or I would have done.

    Open Age Being assaulted

Has anyone been involved in being assaulted by a player after / during a game? Unfortunately, this happened to me last weekend, and obviously the FA and police are involved. Luckily I wasn't hurt, just a bit shaken up. If it has happened to anyone else, how did the FA react to it? How did it...

    Hello!

Hello, newbie posting here. I first started reffing about 15 years ago when I was 14, but packed it in after 5 or so years, as the lure of going out with my mates on a Friday / Saturday night was too much. I started again in January, and enjoying it (apart from 1 fateful game, but I'll post...
