    Sheffield Utd Vs Brighton

I get that Brighton players were angry at the challenge, but Dunk screaming in Attwell's ear with no reaction or disciplinary action is not a good look.

    Sheffield Utd Vs Brighton

2 handed shove in the back no longer considered a foul in the box or a C&O error

    Sheffield Utd Vs Brighton

Horrible knee high lunge by Mason Holgate on Mitoma. Initially given as a yellow card, but referee Stuart Atwell is quickly sent to the screen to review by VAR Michael Oliver and the yellow card is upgraded to a straight red. My issue with the incident is Stuart Atwell effectively appearing to...

    BRE LIV

Wasn't talking about VAR specifically though, wasn't mentioned at all in my post. On pitch decisions are inconsistent as they have ever been. Kick someone through the back of their legs or barge them in the back - Nah, no foul, stand on someone's toe the next week? Foul!

    BRE LIV

As I said in a previous post, given up wondering what is considered a penalty worthy foul in the PL these days as decisions are so inconsistent week to week depending who the referee is and where they are refereeing.

    Forest-Newcastle

There is definitely a secondary upwards movement of the Newcastle keeper's arm before the contact, but I have given up trying to understand what is and isn't a penalty in the eyes of the PGMOL these days.

    WOL vs MUN

Sorry RR can't agree, there has to be a time that we need to stop defending the indefensible. Top officials are looking incompetent on and off the pitch, too wrapped up in invisible guidelines and protocols even they don't know what is "clear and obvious" anymore. As system that was introduced...

    When to retire

Mentally I was torn, I would drive to games full of doubts and thinking why am I still doing this. When the game had started, the fog usually cleared and I zoned into the games. Then I would get home, sometimes spending several hours in the evening writing a report to justify the most blatant...

    WOL vs MUN

Always thought VAR would be good for football, but I am slowly falling out of love with the modern day game. We have more inconsistency than ever before as officials judgment is clearly clouded by doubts and the obscurity of "clear and obvious" where blatantly obvious errors are ignored/not over...

    West Ham Vs Sheffield United

That was dull! Chris Wilder didn't agree with the red card, but manager's rarely do. Crazy challenge, called red in normal time, totally out of control. Thinking West Ham probably should have had a 2nd penalty right at the end for the SU 15s rugby tackle on Bowen.

    Chelsea vs Fulham

Extremely poor challenge from Gusto, similarities to the challenge he made earlier in the season which was upgraded from yellow to red after VAR review.

    Clattenburg - Gladiators

What a time time be alive, where people will complain about absolutely anything and everything. Shock horror, retired referee gets opportunity of alternative work, probably with a nice pay packet, fair play to him. Why is he not entitled to do so just because is a former professional referee...

    Newcastle v Man City

Missed the first 5 minutes and the incident that resulted in Edison's injury. Commentary team were critical of the keep the flag down directive. Think City were right to be aggrieved with the inconsistency of the Dan Burn non -card followed by Silva's yellow, both cynical. Cracking game of...

    Burnley v Luton

Keeper has made a meal of it and tried to buy a foul. Whilst as referees on the pitch we have to be impartial and give what we see, after the Burnley keeper's Pickfordesque gamesmanship with the theatrical delayed collapsing over the ball throughout, I zero sympathy for him or Burnley...

    M'boro Vs Chelsea

Not the cleverest of challenges by Axel Disasi in the first minute within Chelsea's penalty area. I suspect if VAR was in operation, they could well of recommended a review!

    Chelsea - Preston

My initial thought watching the game live was WTF... Just watched the goal again on YouTube, there was a Chelsea player close to the keeper when the corner was crossed in, can only imagine they may have thought the player was interfering with the keeper, but when Silva headed the ball the...

    BRW v SPC

Not the clearest of vids, but does look like the attacker is just beyond the last defender (who is on the pitch, therefore 2nd last defender), so even taking the defender behind the line into consideration (to the left of the picture - last defender), still not 2 defenders/defender & keeper...

    Bournemouth Vs Fulham

Fulham keeper Leno, already on a yellow card for his delaying tactics at Bournemouth's penalty, sticks his palm into the chest of a ball boy. The ball boy didn't play silly sods or make much effort to give the ball to the Fulham keeper, just held the ball out in the palm of his hand. It was no...

    PNE v LEE

Just seen a clip on the Sky Score Centre app. Massive over-reaction alround over absolutely nothing. - Keeper collects high ball, starts verbals with attacker who was in his airspace, another Preston player chirps in to stick up for his team mate, keeper shoves a palm in his face and Preston...

    NEW v NFO

Soft would be an understatement! Therein lies the chronic inconsistencies of Premier League refereeing and VAR protocols. Minimal contact on the toe and went down like he was shot by a sniper. Yet a couple of days ago, we saw a yellow card for simulation after far more contact
