You send him off because he called the linesman a cheat and because he swore at him. And make sure you put those exact words in the report to the FA. Its not ok to call the ref or a lino a cheat because it undermines their authority

For me, if you don't talk to these people, they won't respect you. And if you're a likable guy and you talk to them, they are less likely to kick off.

Nup. sounds like you were in the right the whole way. It was obvious that the home manager just wanted the game called off because he was losing. I bet the away manager was having a good giggle though. :D

That last one is pretty funny though. But everyone as a ref has had verbal abuse. One of the most liked people (not just ref, people really just like him as well) in a league I used to do lines for had abuse, and everyone liked and respected him, but he still got abuse.

Disgusting behaviour from players. I don't personally experience any massive abuse, as I know it's part of the job and I'm fully expecting it to happen though. But this is unacceptable...
