I Come across this before on Twitter and thought it would be a good one to share. Personally, i don't think it would be a good idea as there would be to many stoppages in the game to keep looking back at the video to make certain decisions and like it says in the link, it's errors that can make football fun and exiting. However, for things like mistaken Identities I think it'd be great.

1)I don't buy the argument that 'we want errors in the game'. It's a professional sport so there's an obligation to all stakeholders to minimise errors. It's quite an absurd argument really. There will always be controversial decisions, and there will still be plenty of mistakes - video refereeing is just looking at trying to eliminate a couple of the match-deciding ones. The sort of error that's more likely to turn people away from the game.

2)It doesn't have to bring in 'too many stoppages' - one possible option is for a team to be able to nominate 1 per match/half. I actually think that's by far the best solution - what you don't want is implementation to favour one team or another (if, say, you review penalties, then isn't the implementation favouring the defence?)

I see what you mean about the professional sport but I still think errors bring some excitement to a match (especially when your watching united lol)
