    Garforth Town v Bridlington

Would have posted this earlier, but haven't been on the ol' computer. Found this quite interesting

What do you use your 2nd watch for?

Just to clarify exactly what the competition regulations say: 4.1.3. The allowance for time lost is at the discretion of the Match Official and can only be applied to the last fixture of the day or as directed by CF. Allowance may be made in either half for all time lost through: a)...

    Intimidation

And then did you send him as well if you didn't abandon?

What do you use your 2nd watch for?

Was planning to use it for continuous time when I start the season here (with apple watch running RefSix for stoppage time). However, have learnt that all leagues employ the practice of: No added time unless it is the final game to be played on the field that day.

"That's your fault ref, you caused that" - how do you deal with those kind of comments?

I'd love to have a manager say that a little bit more abusively, so then I could respond with, "And now there's only one manager."

    Calling match off in advance

Had a situation like this when playing as a junior. U18s game before the open age first division game, on a sunny day, but 3 days of rain before, so pitch was very muddy (shared ground with a rugby club). Outcome from the referee was our U18s game got shortened from 45 min. halves to 30 min...

    Promotion?

4 Tiers. summarising very briefly (and possibly wrongly here), but Level 4 : Community level Youth games Level 3 : Community level Senior games Level 2 : Elite level up to the penultimate league within State/Federation (Understanding that would be National Premier League 2 in every state). Also...

    Promotion?

All this promotion talk makes me feel lucky in Australia. One test and I'll be L4, without having done a match before

Caution for player already sent off?

I believe in Australia, every red card needs to be submitted with a detail of the incident, so I daresay if it happened here, it would just be added to the incident, and then probably added as an extra suspension

    My men's game number 3

Funny coincidence over the weekend going through my association's community league regulations that I'd be refereeing this year: 6.4.6. A Club appointed Match Official will have the power to sanction players in accordance with the Laws of the Game. a) If the fixture has a club person as an...

Dutch Referee Blog - Nike referee outfits for 2020-2022

My federation has black, blue, or yellow and all clubs are instructed to not use black or primarily black shirts for all players. I think three colours works. Pink would be mint though

    First referring game

I was just saying because had a referee last year who called 2 or 3 foul throws in a game (for both sides, admittedly) because players were doing that, even though it's not a foul throw. Told him and the linesman what the throw-in laws were, and haven't seen the ref since. This is round 6 and...

Should you let play continue until it's conclusion on offside calls?

I've bolded the issue here that I strongly agree with. With starting refereeing this season coming up in Australia, and coming from an assistant coaching role in Australia's (overly large) third tier where all games had a Centre referee, a linesman, and a CAR from the home club, I'm not sure how...

    First referring game

As long as you aren't calling my players out for having toes over the line haha (with the rest of the foot on and behind the line)

Melbourne City vs Western Utd penalty & RC

Yes, that's pretty much the way I see it too. I mean.. whether to give a Yellow Card or a Red Card would be debatable and dependent on the referee. But, it's arm's above the shoulder (even if he is having a lay down doing it) and arm striking the ball. So, yeah current handball rules would see...

Melbourne City vs Western Utd penalty & RC

Is it denying a goal scoring opportunity if had he not handled it, it wasn't going to another attacker? That's why I'd back the original Yellow Card decision.

Brisbane Roar v Western Sydney Wanderers

So, now there's this dilemma in Australia that got picked up as to why isn't this a handball

    Other Federation Courses

I guess you'd have to look into how/if the SFA recognises referee qualifications. For example, in Australia, courses are run by the state federations, but in accordance to a national guideline. Therefore, if let's say a referee was moving from Sydney to Canberra (two different state...
