    Annual level 5-4

There's been a huge shortage of 4s this season so I'm not surprised to see a fair few names. I was a little surprised by the 4-3 number, with such a short 3-2 number, but it's all about balancing I suppose and I understand why so few were promoted to 2, because with the new system at 2, there is...

    BRA v NFO

It's possible, but you could also be overestimating his intelligence. There are still a lot of footballers out there who say 'dissent is a yellow card' and don't realise OFFINABUS exists.

    Newcastle v Chelsea

I think we do need that, or I think the wider football public would misinterpret things. Also, there could be a good reason why any individual clip can't be used. These officials could very easily say something unprofessional in the moment or not strictly correct in law... then that audio can't...

    EFL referee appointments

ZKK by any chance? Never seen him referee. In answer to your question, I believe if we allowed a team to request not to have a particular referee on the basis of a perceived poor performance, you'd have nobody left to referee most games. And that's not the fault of referees...

    2026 Potential Law Changes

In my match last night, a team were forced in to a substitution 13 minutes in to the game. As this meant his replacement was rushed to be ready, they didn't have time to properly convey the tactical instructions required. Low and behold, 30 seconds later the goalkeeper has an injury requiring...

    Man Utd vs Man City

I don't agree. I can guarantee that probably hurt Doku, but I feel like there is zero chance of that challenge causing him an injury more than just the impact pain from the stud on the knee. Point of contact is important in judging the severity of an offence, but if there is very little force...

    2026 Potential Law Changes

Well done to you sir... not many observers would do that if the referee hadn't raised it!

    Man Utd vs Man City

See Cucurella's rolling around to get a Brentford player (can't remember which) booked... albeit Cucurella was holding the face so trying to get him sent off. This after being the one who started it. Should have been a caution a piece.

    Tottenham v West Ham handball

Not for me. Certainly not clear enough for a VAR review. The arm position isn't hugely unnatural given that he's putting it out to steady himself against the attacker and he has very little time to react to the header the attacker gets on the ball.

Location of free kick - off the ball (SFP)

Theoretically you could play advantage to benefit the non offending team in the event of an OGSO, but unless someone’s about to put the ball in the net, it’s probably very ill-advised after a punch 😆

    Arrested for an elbow/assault

worth noting that this isn’t even Sunday league as presumed by many… it’s semi professional football

    2026 Potential Law Changes

But if we aren’t careful we’re gonna end up with the need for a table for outcomes on dogso smilar to penalty kicks 🤦‍♂️

    2026 Potential Law Changes

Yeah of course. I meant don’t evisage Pat Butcher suddenly being able to play even if she tapes hear earrings up. (Probably a niche English comment tbf)

    Annual level 5-4

Believe these emails have now been sent out :) I expect a list of all promotions within the FA's remit will be confirmed this afternoon maybe.

    2026 Potential Law Changes

I think they're already in LOTG under Electronic performance and tracking systems (EPTS). But my daughter was very confused as to why the players were wearing crop tops like her when she came to watch.

    2026 Potential Law Changes

I find it hard to see this referencing jewellery. I'm thinking more things like whoop bands, but time will tell.

    2026 Potential Law Changes

As well as adding an extra consideration for all officials. Lets not forget, Bob, 70 years old refereeing from the centre circle to help out because nobody else wants to on a sunday afternoon is also supposed to remember and apply the same laws we are. Unnecessary.

    Level 3/4 LOTG tests

If you're on about the one I'm thinking of... I still don't know if this is considered a legal throw in or whether it was the fact that the opposition immediately won the ball and began an attack... and as we know the IFAB Q&A suggests we can play advantage from a non-legal throw in. 😆 the one...

    Luton v Swindon Sub error

This is a particularly valid point. I don't know any referee that checks the numbers of the starting 22 players against the team sheet, letalone the names, and again coming out for the second half. There's classic law test questions about players subbing at half time without informing you... but...

    Level 3/4 LOTG tests

Agree on this. Last season it showed us which we answered that were wrong. This season you have to redo the test and it shows you the answers after the second time (at least a month later obv) by which time you can't always remember which you put first time around. I aim to get 100% every...
