Well for whatever reason I've been given an U14 quarter final county cup game this week. Probably due to convenience of location although my ego would like to believe that they've been massively impressed with my 10 games to date!
How are cup games different to league? Are they harder to manage...
I never know what to do when warming up. I know it sounds stupid but I always feel like an idiot running about on my own when people are watching.
I tend to run between the goal and usually a nearby tree several times and then do some stretches.
What do you do?
Had 2 games today, an U14 and an U13. There was 2 incidents across them that I wasn't completely sure how to handle.
U14 game was first. Fairly dull game and finished 10-2. I gave 2 penalties, one of which might have been soft as they were pushing against each other 50/50 and the stronger of...
What's your thoughts on wearing tracksuits (plain black) during the game during winter.
When I played it was 50/50 in terms of whether a ref would wear shorts or tracksuits in the winter.
So far I have worn tracksuits in my games as they've all been very cold but i was wondering whether this was...

Ball was kicked up into the air, as it went up player shouted it was flat. It came down and clearly was flat so i blew the whistle to stop play.
Home team manager instantly says we'll pass it back to them (the away team were on the ball) so i...
We've all done it. A decision doesn't go our teams way and we leap up at the TV like a caged animal shouting at the referee on the off chance his headsets connected to our living room.
Anyway, since I've started refereeing it really irritates me when someone complains at the referee and 9 times...
Hello, I'm 16 and had my 3rd game today and as the title says it was horrible. My first and second game were alright (both U13's) other than my misunderstanding of timing and accidentally awarding a throw in to the wrong team which led to the winning goal after being distracted with the...
Hi, I'm 16 and a new ref. I have done 3 games which would fit quite well into a traffic light (one was good, one was bad, one was alright).
Look forward to meeting you around the forums
